What is your favorite time to write?
In the early morning before anyone else is stirring, or even thinking of stirring. I love to see the sky change as the sun crests the horizon. It's incredibly inspiring. Sometime evenings work for me, but I'm usually so swamped with trying to keep on top of work etc, that evenings are lose myself in a novel time.
What are your favorite genres?
I like historical fiction to read, I like to write a bit of fantasy, nature based spirituality stuff. I also write mostly about women getting it together in one way or another. Animals, dogs and cats especially, frequent my writing as main characters, as well as, making important guest appearances.

Let it snow!

Here I sit at my trusty Mac, alternately typing and gazing out the window at the snow. Oh how I hope it snows enough to shut down the university for a few days next week. I've been back teaching for just one week, and already I want another break. Maybe it's just back-to-work-itis. You know, the first few days back after a holiday when you're not ready to be back yet, and you are overwhelmed by all the things you have to do. This semester, I have to produce two major exams for the whole departme… Continue

Hi again,
I don't actually live in Istanbul I'm afraid. I was just lucky to have my work published there. It was as hort story called 'Megalith' and you can see it at http://www.ilrmagazine.net/story/issue9_st12.php

I do love Turkey, havng been there some years ago. I loved Alanya with it's fabulous Red Tower and the old caves that hold the legnend of being the one time hiding place of Anthony and Cleopatra. Mind you, the stories of pirate's male captives being thrown from the clifftops while the females were led off into slavery were a bit hair raising! It's abeautiful country and you're very fortunate to be living there. I envy you.

You sound as dog crazy as we are. My wife is currently clipping and grooming all 4 of ours. She did a grooming course not long ago and is quite an expert now. We even got her a professional grooming table on which to do it!
Our dogs actually sit around the table queing up to be done!

Best regards

Brian

Mabel is lovely. We have 4 dogs, all rescued after being abused and abandoned. I recently had a short story published in the Istanbul Literature Review. Small world!

I managed to misplace your email about being a book reviewer but I have three ready for you for May:--)

A contemporary romance, a SF collection of short stories that has the coolest fantasy feel (I love this one) and a short writer's ebook on firearms (what not to do in your story with them) and can send them to you soon as I get your email addy.

You can send the reviews to me and I'll post them on the review site:--)
