Hi Karen, Welcome to the Write Spot. I know what you mean about writing once the kids are in bed...I write when they are in bed or at school, or both! Hope you enjoy the space here!

Profile Information

What is your favorite time to write?
In the evenings, a habit I formed after having my kids. I could only write when they were sleeping Now, it's part of the bedtime routine. Pajamas. Brush teeth. Mommy goes to write!
What are your favorite genres?
I'm all over the place in my genre preferences. I'm just as happy with a good Elmore Leonard book as I am with a YA novel by Elizabeth Berg.

25 Random Things...About My Writing Life

Hello writers. I've been tagged so many times on Facebook with the 25 Things meme that I thought it was finally time to drink the Kool-Aid and do something. Since you don't really care to know a list of things about me that includes my penchant for Limoncello or that my first dog was a poodle named Dee Dee.

1. All my novels and screenplays began with a question I wanted the answer to.
2. I don’t subscribe to the write-what-you-know maxim. I write what I WANT to know.
3. I like to imagine famous… Continue

The Week In Writing: Reader pet peeves and bad genes...not of the denim variety

This week, I'm having an Author Chat over at LibraryThing. Some of you have asked the best questions I've gotten since the debut of Janeology! Stop by and read the Q&A if you get a chance. I'm giving away one copy of the book to one lucky commenter on August 13.

Of interest to both writers and readers, agent Nathan Bransford posted a blog this week called… Continue
